The basics
What is MESO?
A planning platform for teachers. You give it your curriculum, the unit you are teaching and the context of your class, and it drafts units of learning, lesson plans, assessments, rubrics and supporting resources for you to review and edit.
How is this different from using ChatGPT?
A general-purpose chatbot generates from your prompt. MESO generates from context: it is built on national curriculum data and educational research, so what it drafts maps back to the outcomes you are required to teach rather than to how well you worded a request. This is the distinction the OECD now calls for: purpose-built tools for education rather than generic chatbots.
Which curriculum does it work with?
MESO is built around the Irish curriculum. Tell us what you teach and we can be specific about coverage for your subject and year group.
What can it produce?
Five products are live. MESO Planner is the core create flow for units, lessons, assessments and rubrics; MESO Assist is the chat assistant across the platform; MESO Resource is your library of quizzes, flashcards and worksheets; MESO Present turns a plan into slides; and MESO Organise lays out the teaching week. More is in development.
Using it
Is it free?
There is a free tier at launch with what you need to plan a full unit, and no card is required to start. Paid tiers for departments and schools are coming.
Does it replace my professional judgement?
No. MESO drafts, you decide. You approve, edit or discard everything it produces. It is built as augmentation, not replacement, and the teacher stays in the loop by design.
Can I edit and export what it makes?
Yes. Everything is editable, and units, lessons and assessments live in one connected workspace you can draft, refine and export from.
Data and safety
Is my data protected?
MESO is GDPR compliant and built to European data-protection standards from the start, with EU AI Act alignment designed in rather than retrofitted.
Do you profile students?
No. No student profiling is a hard design boundary, not a setting you have to go and find.
